Ghosts and Goblins and Pumpkins, Oh My! Pure Pop Radio’s Halloween Extravaganza Starts Tonight!

pumpkin halloweenIt probably won’t come as a galloping shock to you that we here at the fun-is-our-middle-name Pure Pop Radio headquarters are big fans of Halloween, the creepiest, scariest, spookiest, and pumpkiniest holiday ever (although we’ve been known to also wax pretty nutty about Arbor Day; oh, what we can do with tree branches and a whole lotta bark).

With Halloween week here at least, we’re getting ready to trick-or-treat full blast in our Aaron Sorkin costumes, door to door, at the same time as we’re running two–count ’em, two–special editions of our popular deejay shows to help you celebrate the candy-riffic season (our Beatles shows, Every Little Thing and Things We Said Today, are taking a break this week; they’ll return next week).

The Taters

pop tunes disc smallTonight–Monday, October 26 at 9 pm ET–on a special edition of Alan Haber’s Pop Tunes Deejay Show, we’re in our reconfigured, spacious studio, now a spooky haunted house complete with living skeletons, booing ghosts, and three pun-wielding, joke-telling, pop culture fanatical Taters sitting in front of our orange (hey, it’s Halloween!) microphones, for a really fun time. Join us, won’t you? Costumes optional!

The Taters have recorded a very special Halloween greeting for you, our treasured Pop Tunes fans. Listen:

That’s right–Craig Evans, Brad Tucker and Chris Mendez from the jolly Ameripopicana band the Taters are Alan’s special guests, talking about their scary good EP, Don’t Scream! Songs to Keep You Up at Night! The boys, puns ‘n’ jokes ‘n’ pop culture references at the ready, help our intrepid host play some well- and not-so-well-known Halloween tunes. Who from? Zacherle, the Tremblers, Caravan of Thieves, Jackdaw 4, Groovie Goolies, Blue Ash, Jamie and Steve, and, of course, the Taters! The tunes, the laughs and the scares come fast and furious in this 90-minute holiday free-for-all!
