Ho, ho, ho and all that kind of holiday yakety-yak, we say, as we slip into our festive holiday frocks and footwear and gear up to spin the festive platters that matter; starting today, we’re garnishing our voluminous selection of melodic pop songs (just about 8,000 strong, as the crow flies) with hundreds and hundreds of Christmas numbers from all across the wide spectrum of artists you know and love.
If you’ve already hung your mistletoe, you might want to stand under it, because Pure Pop Radio’s 25 Days of Holiday Cheer begins today, December 1.
We look forward to this time of year because it’s the time when we all let our hair down just a little itty bit, when we get all festive and joyous and all of the little things that sometimes weigh us down don’t seem to matter all that much. C’mon, as the song goes, and get happy; we’ve got the perfect, holiday melodic pop soundtrack for you.

Step up to the microphone, then, Fountains of Wayne and Maxi Dunn and Michael Carpenter and the Jigsaw Seen; be merry Bleu, Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans, and Bing Crosby and your l’il buddy David Bowie. Gather round the Christmas tree Laurie Biagini, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Pugwash, and yes, you too, Pee Wee Herman!
All of these famed artists and the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and a whole bunch of other “B” bands are slowly beginning to gather around Pure Pop Radio’s 40-foot Christmas tree (we exaggerate only ever-so-slightly, of course) to bring you, our treasured audience, lots of good cheer and good tidings and at least a couple of boxes of Tide.
Starting today, we’re beginning to slip in a Christmas song or greeting or two into each our of our broadcast day hours, just to get you in the mood. It’s the start of our 25 Days of Holiday Cheer, leading up to our second annual Pure Pop Radio Holiday Popapalooza, which begins at noon on Christmas Eve, December 24, and continues through all of Christmas Day. That’s 36 straight hours of nothing but Christmas classics of the melodic pop variety. It’s our gift to you, our cherished friends.
Our second annual Favorite Records of the Year list, bringing to you our favorite records of 2016, will appear in mid-January. Look out for that, won’t you?
Well, we’ve said hello and now we must be going, because there’s a lot of Christmas music to sort through. Enjoy Pure Pop Radio all through this holiday season and into next year; we’ve got lots of fun coming at you and we wouldn’t want you to miss a second of it!
Alan Haber’s Pure Pop Radio is the original 24-hour Internet radio station playing the greatest melodic pop music from the ’60s to today.
