You just know that important anniversaries related to the world of the Beatles are going to be discussed on the weekly Fab roundtable, Things We Said Today, so it should come as no surprise that Ken Michaels, Steve Marinucci, Al Sussman and Allan Kozinn talk about the 20th anniversary of the Beatles Anthology on tonight’s all-new episode at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT).
It’s almost hard to believe, but it was 20 years ago that ABC television in America broadcast the six-hour-long Anthology program that breathtakingly premiered two new Beatles recordings, based on a cassette containing three John Lennon demos (the third song was never completed).
Of course, the television program was just the start of a series of Anthology releases; the ABC telecasts were followed by videotape and DVD versions of the shows, both with extra material; three, two-CD sets of outtakes and alternate versions of Beatles numbers; and a coffee table Anthology book.
The members of our regular panel of Beatles experts discuss everything you could possibly ever want to know about the Anthology project, arguably the most important Beatles release of the post-breakup years alongside the recent Beatles 1 video and audio packages.
Don’t miss this chance to get inside the Anthology experience on tonight’s all-new edition of Things We Said Today. The discussion begins tonight at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT) on Pure Pop Radio.
Things We Said Today is a weekly survey of all things Beatles that’s hosted by a quartet of Beatles experts–today’s Fab Four, if you will. Ken Michaels, host of Every Little Thing, is joined by Beatlefan Executive Editor Al Sussman, Steve Marinucci(Beatles Examiner), and Allan Kozinn, longtime music critic. Other well-known Beatles experts sometimes sit in with the core group. Things We Said Today airs every Thursday night at 8 pm ET on Pure Pop Radio.
