Our regularly-scheduled specialty shows, scheduled regularly and brimming with pop goodness, are poised to knock your musically-inclined socks off this week. We’re excited to bring the latest episodes of Ken Michael’s Every Little Thing, Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation, Brian Bringelson’s Needle Meets Vinyl, and the weekly Beatles roundtable Things We Said Today to your ears. Our collective index finger is about to hit play on what promises to be another run of outstanding melodic pop programs.
Tonight’s repeat edition of Ken Michaels’ Every Little Thing, first broadcast on Pure Pop Radio in October 2014, presents an interview with author Bruce Spizer, whose books chronicling the Beatles’ record releases are amongst the most vital tomes ever printed, and a set of Fab songs involving classic artist Tom Petty. The show rolls at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT).
Tomorrow night on an all-new edition of Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation, Klaatu’s Terry Draper talks to Alan Haber about his new album, Searching, a hall-of-fame-worthy release that belongs in every melodic pop fan’s collection. You’ll hear Terry wax poetic, and we’ll spin several songs from what Alan called the first great album of 2016. Tune in at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT) tomorrow night for this all-new, very special program.
The latest, all-new edition of Brian Bringelson‘s always-entertaining Needle Meets Vinyl program kicks off with the Shins’ “Simple Song” and concludes with the Beach Boys’ version of Lennon and McCartney’s “With a Little Help from My Friends.” In between, Brian plays tracks from Rainbow Ffolly, Fleetwood Mac, Spinal Tap, Neko Case, and a whole lot more. And remember: all of the songs are played from vinyl. The fun begins this Wednesday night, February 10, at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT).
This week’s Things We Said Today finds our regular panel of Beatles experts–Ken Michaels, Steve Marinucci, Al Sussman and Allan Kozinn–talking about artists who record what Fab fans consider to be music that is Beatlesque in nature. Artists like the Knickerbockers, ELO, Emitt Rhodes, Harry Nilsson, Roy Wood, Cheap Trick and the Fut (remember them?) are discussed and offered up as some of the best practitioners of Beatlesque sounds. Tune in at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT) this Thursday, February 11 for another rousing, Fab discussion.
Every Little Thing is the premiere, syndicated program playing Beatles group and solo recordings. Hosted by longtime radio personality Ken Michaels, the show airs a mix of new and archived shows on Monday nights at 8 pm ET on Pure Pop Radio.
Needle Meets Vinyl is the weekly show during which all songs are played from vinyl records. The music spans the decades during which popular music has flourished. Curated and presented by Brian Bringelson, a member of the band Anchor and Bear and a solo artist under the name Paul Starling, the show airs Wednesday nights at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT).
Things We Said Today is a weekly survey of all things Beatles that’s hosted by a quartet of Beatles experts–today’s Fab Four, if you will. Ken Michaels, host of Every Little Thing, is joined by Beatlefan Executive Editor Al Sussman, Steve Marinucci (Beatles Examiner), and Allan Kozinn, longtime music critic. Other well-known Beatles experts sometimes sit in with the core group. Things We Said Today airs Thursday nights at 8 pm ET on Pure Pop Radio.
