For those of you who missed our announcement on Facebook earlier this week, we’ve got a very cool new show called Two Music Geeks debuting at 9 pm ET this coming Tuesday, April 22. (We’ve got a nifty Event page on Facebook, too; we’d appreciate it if you’d join the fun by going to https://www.facebook.com/events/503946419712098/ and signing up. Thanks!)
Pure Pop Radio’s Alan Haber: A hundred years of music knowledge put to good use!
Scott W. McKinney: From live and local radio to the world over. Welcome, Scott, to Pure Pop Radio!
Two Music Geeks is our latest specialty show here at Pure Pop Radio, and we’re pretty excited about it. Here’s the skinny: Every three weeks, for an hour (give or take), Alan Haber (hey, that’s me!) and former KBEK-FM on-air host and Assistant Station Manager Scott W. McKinney will play ’em, talk about ’em and just generally have a heck of a time with ’em. In other words, we’ll be spinning great pop songs and slathering love all over them!
This new program is a natural outgrowth from the every-so-often Saturday morning interview programs on KBEK, during which Scott and I alternated, playing a favorite pop song and talking about it. These sessions, always a fun time, turned out to be pretty popular. However, due to the recent closing of the live and local radio station serving Mora, Minnesota and surrounding areas, those sessions are no longer possible.
Enter Pure Pop Radio. It seemed natural to continue to conduct the sessions here, on our air, and broadcast them to our audience around the world. Plus, now those sessions have a proper name: Two Music Geeks! Finally, we have a new place to ply our catchy trade: putting our combined 200 years of music knowledge to use during a rock ’em, sock ’em hour (or more). What could be more fun?
(l to r) Alan and Scott
