My in-depth interview with singer-songwriter Brett Harris is now available for listening and downloading from Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation’s PodOmatic podcast page.
Brett’s new album, Up in the Air, is a fantastic collection of wonderfully realized pop songs. We’ve been playing Brett on Pure Pop Radio for awhile; I’m happy to have him in the interviewee’s seat.
Up in the Air is an album you’ll want to be playing in your home and on the go. This is nothing less than a terrific collection of 10 wonderful pop songs delivered with skill and heart.
Brett played songs from Up in the Air and across his catalog during his wonderful set performed this past Friday night, February 26, at Washington, D.C.’s Tree House Lounge. A converted row house only a hop, skip and a short jump from local eatery Sicilian Pizza, Tree House’s stage is situated on the second floor. The venue is notable for its policy of setting sound levels based on the vocalist’s volume. This is the first time in recent memory I can remember being able to make out every word being sung. Hats off to the Lounge.
As you can see from the photos, Brett is completely invested in his songs, all of which were delivered with strong conviction. Accompanied by his deft acoustic guitar playing, he sang his heart out. My wife and I were tremendously affected by his performance.
Artists and music fans alike will tell you that it is important to get out of the house and go see and hear music performed. I second that emotion; there is nothing like seeing a performer, fully invested in their songs, connect with people. Brett is a very special performer, surely going places as he makes his mark on tour and on record. Don’t miss Brett’s new album, Up in the Air, releasing this Friday, March 4, listen to and/or download my interview with him, and check his website for his upcoming live dates.
