By Alan Haber – Pure Pop Radio
Two new editions of Alan Haber’s Pop Tunes Deejay Show, and an all-new installment of Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation, featuring singer-songwriter Marc Jonson, blaze across the airwaves this week, courtesy of Pop that Goes Crunch Radio.
Tomorrow night at 8 pm ET, the first of two brand new editions of Alan Haber’s Pop Tunes Deejay Show roll with the greatest melodic pop music from the 1960s to today. As usual, I am behind the controls, pumping out the tunes along with a healthy smattering of snappy deejay patter. Tuesday night’s show features The Beatles, The Weeklings, Rockpile, Coke Belda, Flamin’ Groovies, Marc McCrite, and a deep tribute to the members of The Legal Matters. Another all-new show plays on Thursday night, September 21 at 8 pm ET, featuring a mix of great songs from across the decades.
Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation is all new this Wednesday night, September 20 at 9 pm ET. Singer-songwriter Marc Jonson, best known for his seminal 1992 album 12 in a Room, talks to me about his 1972 debut album Years, released on the Vanguard label. Along the way, Marc met up with such luminaries as Harry Chapin and Eric Clapton, and went from recording songs in his Long Island bedroom to recording in Vanguard’s mammoth studios. It’s a detailed look at the creative process, as in-depth as it gets on pop music’s premiere interview program.
