By Alan Haber – Pure Pop Radio
As we count down the days until Christmas (29 to be exact), we search for some melodic joy to play us through. Pure Pop Radio comes to your rescue this week with two all-new editions of Alan Haber’s Pop Tunes Deejay Show, and a classic Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation show from the archives, featuring Jeffrey Foskett.

We kick off Feast for Your Ears week with tomorrow night’s first of two premiere Pop Tunes Deejay Show get-togethers (8 pm ET). First up in the show is the world radio premiere of Vanilla’s new song, “Let’s Call It a Day.” Part of the Mystik Knights of Takoma album, being assembled one track at a time, this is a beautiful, orchestrated song with lovely vocals from Pop 4’s Kirk Adams. Also spinning on the show: New tracks from Bill Lloyd, Caddy, The Weeklings, Tony Valentino from the Standells, Kyle Vincent, Mike Daly and the Planets, and Daniel McGeever. We also pay tribute to two recently fallen pop giants: David Cassidy and Tommy Keene.
Thursday night at 8 pm ET, this week’s second all-new Pop Tunes Deejay Show rolls with a tribute to the great radio personality Wolfman Jack (with a sidestep to Cousin Brucie Boulevard); another new song from Bill Lloyd; new tracks from Scott Brookman, Dave Caruso, Pat Walsh, , The Nines, and Squeeze; and a twin-spin from the Scaffold. Plus, we get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday season with some warm holiday melodies.

Wednesday night at 9 pm ET, we revisit an interview with current Beach Boy Jeffrey Foskett. My talk with Jeffrey from January 19, 1997, the first of many that were aired on the weekly Pure Pop Radio Show back in the 1990s, came after Jeffrey’s first two solo CDs were released. We talk about and play a few tracks from them, and touch on meeting Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the first time, his first money-paying gig at age 14, his love of the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album, and the greatness of sleigh bells. Don’t miss this one.
Two all-new Pop Tunes Deejay Shows and an interview with Jeffrey Foskett from 1997 on In Conversation? Why, that sounds like a pretty great Feast for Your Ears week! Tune in to Pop that Goes Crunch Radio and enjoy!
