As part of Pure Pop Radio’s festive Premiere Week, we’re serving up a brand-new edition of Ken Michaels’ Fab hour, Every Little Thing, in the show’s new time slot. The latest, new show debuts tonight on Pure Pop Radio at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT). A mix of new and archived shows will air every Monday night.
Tonight’s new show features, in the traditional opening segment, a trio of Beatles and solo Beatles classics and a George Harrison cover from the former Cat Stevens, Yusuf Islam. With Wings’ “Listen to What the Man Said,” the Beatles’ “Rain,” John Lennon’s “Bless You,” and Yusuf’s take on George’s “The Day the World Gets Round,” you know you’re off and running with another great hour from Ken.
Segment two presents an informative interview with author Dave Schwensen, whose book, The Beatles at Shea Stadium: The Story Behind their Greatest Concert, is a must read. Also in this segment: a pair of live tracks from the Fabs: “Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby,” as performed at Shea; and “She’s a Woman,” from the Hollywood Bowl.
The third, themed segment is an “Away We Go” set stocked full of songs with the word “away” in the titles. Listen for George’s great “Blow Away,” Ringo Starr’s “Now that She’s Gone Away,” and Paul and Linda McCartney’s “Smile Away,” among other fine numbers. Prepare to be taken away with another great set curated by Ken.
Don’t forget to stay tuned for Ken’s Beatles Game at the end of the show; see if you can answer this week’s question. Get your thinking caps ready!
Every Little Thing is the premiere, syndicated program playing Beatles group and solo recordings. Hosted by longtime radio personality Ken Michaels, the show airs a mix of new and archived shows on Monday nights at 8 pm ET on Pure Pop Radio.
