Next Week: Welcome Back Pure Pop Radio’s Specialty Shows

Next week marks the triumphant return of three of Pure Pop Alan Haber's Pure Pop RadioRadio’s popular specialty shows. Welcome back Ken Michaels’ Every Little Thing, the weekly Beatles music program of record; Things We Said Today, the weekly Beatles roundtable hosted by a quartet of Fabs experts; and Brian Bringelson’s Needle Meets Vinyl, where all of the music revolves at 33 1/3 rpm.

All three of our specialty shows return in their regularly-scheduled time slots. On Monday, February 1 at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT), Every Little Thing will fill the airwaves with an episode featuring an interview with author Anthony Robustelli and a quartet of Beatle-esque-sounding solo songs. On Wednesday, February 3 at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT), a wide variety of sumptuous sounds from the Who, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Guess Who, among others, will spin at 33 1/3 rpm on Needle Meets Vinyl. And on Thursday, February 4 at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT), Ken Michaels, Steve Marinucci, Al Sussman and Allan Kozinn will talk about Beatles producer Sir George Martin’s 90th birthday, celebrated on January 3, and the Beatles music now streaming on nine online services, including Spotify, on Things We Said Today.

needle meets vinylNeedle Meets Vinyl is the weekly show during which all songs are played from vinyl records. The music spans the decades during which popular music has flourished. Curated and presented by Brian Bringelson, a member of the band Anchor and Bear and a solo artist under the name Paul Starling, the show airs Wednesday nights at 8 pm ET (5 pm PT).

Ken Michaels, host of Every Little Thing, is joined by Beatlefan Executive Editor Al Sussman, Steve Marinucci(Beatles Examiner), and Allan Kozinn, longtime music critic. Other well-known Beatles experts sometimes sit in with the core group. Things We Said Today airs Thursday nights at 8 pm ET on Pure Pop Radio.

Each week, Alan will bring you the latest releases from your favorite new and heritage artists, world radio premieres, the weekly Pick Hit that’s zooming up the virtual pop charts and into your heart, theme sets, favorite songs from across the decades, and a treasured segment from the old, weekly Pure Pop Radio show on WEBR: the Student-Teacher Conference, which features a cover of a great melodic pop tune and the original version.

Each week’s new show will repeat on Thursday afternoons at noon ET (9 am PT) and Sunday afternoons at 3 pm ET (noon PT). It’s an extravaganza of pop hosted by Alan Haber and airing each and every week, right here on Pure Pop Radio.

Hosted by Alan Haber, Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation, our signature, melodic pop talk show returns on Tuesday, August 11 at 7 pm ET (4 pm PT) with a mix of new episodes and programs from the archives. We kick things off with the 10th anniversary airing of perhaps our most popular show–a marathon interview with XTC’s Andy Partridge, from May 3, 2005. It’s two hours of in-depth back-and-forth with one of pop music’s greatest writers and performers. You won’t want to miss it!

Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation will repeat on Sunday afternoons at 5 pm ET (2 pm PT). New interviews with your favorite artists are coming soon. Stay tuned to this website for news you need to know about future episodes!

Coming up tonight at 9 pm ET, it’s the latest edition of the fabbest Beatles radio show this side of Liverpool: Ken Michaels’ Every Little Thing. This time around, Ken is spinning a classic tune from Mary Hopkin, interviewing famed recording engineer Dennis Ferrante, who worked with John Lennon, and going all acoustic for a special set. As usual, Every Little Thing is not to be missed!

This week, Pure Pop Radio: In Conversation is celebrating the release of the latest recordings from Jamie and Steve, aka Jamie Hoover and Steve Stoeckel. The duo’s new release is an EP called Circling, and it’s another home run–another reason to celebrate melodic pop music. Jamie and Steve gather around the In Conversation microphones to talk in-depth about four of the songs, and you get to hear them, masterpieces all. Tune in tomorrow night–Tuesday, March 18–at 8 pm ET for all of the fun. The show replays on Wednesday, March 19 at 8 pm ET.

And, speaking of In Conversation, our lively, funny, full-of- cool-information and rockin’ and poppin’ interview with Cool King Chris and, wearing his producer’s hat, Jamie Hoover, which aired last week, is now available for listening and/or downloading on our PodOMatic podcast page.
